A one day guest lecture on the topic “Believe in You” was organized by the department of Computer Science and Engineering, Paavai Engineering College, on 11.07.2019. Mr. Ganapathy Chandrasekaran, Account Technology Strategist (Virtual CTO), Microsoft, San Fransisco was the guest speaker of the day.
The session started with a prayer song. Ms. Akila Jetkin of final year CSE, welcomed the gathering. Dr.M. Prem kumar, The principal, Paavai Engineering College, in the presidential address, urged the students to improve their thinking ability, innovative and creative ability by saying that the human mind is a powerful tool which has paved the way for machine intelligence. He motivated the students to train their minds and update themselves related to the recent technologies from various interdisciplinary domains.
Ms. Ankita Sreekumar, Final year CSE, introduced the guest speaker to the gathering. Dr. A. Suphalakshmi, HOD/CSE, welcomed the guest by presenting a bouquet and memento. Mr. Gana, started the keynote address by stating that one’s goals should be consistent so that he/she can work for continuous progress with ambition and passion. He said that, one can improve their innate character and cognitive ability by creating opportunity and utilize that opportunity to the maximum extent.
Also, He spoke about entrepreneurship by acknowledging Mr. Satya Narayana Nadella, CEO, Microsoft and Mr. Sundar Pichai, CEO, Google. He motivated the student participants to take a single problem and fall in love with the idea to give solution. Five principles including growth mindset, mindfulness, key planning, rewire thinking, spreading relationship which foster innovation were listed out to the students. These key factors help in increasing one’s intensity and depth day by day, reframe unhelpful thoughts, train oneself, spread kindness, improve collaborative learning, appreciate good work and create a personal mantra to achieve the goal.
Finally, the students were made to analyze and answer the following five questionaries’ and the talk ended up with a feedback session.
Henceforth, the guest speaker made the students believe that young people have massive impact to the business and to the technology. Students and faculty members from CSE, IT and MCA departments attended the session.
