Paavai Educational Institutions have signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Xavier, Aruba, in order to facilitate the Indian students to pursue medical education at USA. In connection with this, a face to face interactive session with the eminent experts from Xavier university, Aruba was held at Paavai on 25.07.2019. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, the Chairman, Paavai Educational Institutions, presided over the programme and delivered his presidential address. Dr.Arunkumar Dubey, Chief Academic officer, Xavier University, Aruba and Dr.Kevin Pawlak, Assistant Dean (pre-med) were the chief guests and they delivered special lectures highlighting the prominent features of the study. They Stated : “There is an enormous demand for medical professionals and their expertise in these days”. And if, educational opportunities are provided to interested Indian students, they are sure to emerge as best doctors. It is gratifying to note that paavai has executed an MoU with Xavier University only with this genuine concern. The US based MBBS(MD) programme is a 51/2 years study wherein the first 11/2 years will be in India and the next two years in Aruba and the last 2 years in US. Thus the study has phases with relevant medical programme, practical exposure and clinical rotations. Generally, it will take 7 to 10 years to complete the medical programme.But, the US based MBBS programme at Xavier University, Aruba will enable an aspirant to successfully complete within 51/2 years. Admissions to the MBBS programme are going on at paavai. Henceforth, we wish that Indian students should avail themselves of this opportunity to become world famous doctors with adequate knowledge, skill and overseas expertise. Following the lectures, the university officials and experts did have an interactive question – answer session with the prospective applicants and parents. The audience got actively involved in the programme. Earlier Dr.C.Gunasekaran, Indian representative, Xavier University welcomed the gathering. Mrs.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Instittuions lighted the Kuthuvilaku along with the dignitaries. Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director Administration, Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics graced the occasion. With the vote of thanks and the National anthem, the programme came to an end.
