The Department of EEE, Paavai Engineering College has conducted a one day workshop on Outcome Based Education on 11.12.2019 at cute hall. Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director Administration, presided over the function and insisted the faculty members to consider this kind of workshop as a forum to discuss the need and importance of outcome based education system and how to improve the analytical skills and knowledge of students. Dr.Sowmya Narayanan, Professor and Head, Centre for Life Skills and Life Long Learning New Horizon Engineering College, Bangalore was the guest speaker. In her lecture, she explained about the role, needs and importance of outcome based education system in recent years to enhance the quality of Teaching-Learning process. In her presentation, she introduced the concept of origin of Bloom’s taxonomy. Further, she went on explaining the classification of domain of learning. The resource person involved all the faculty members and divided them into different groups to make them participate to understand the cognitive level of teaching and learning. Finally, she made all the participants to frame question in each level of cognitive domain and the participants in each group made their presentation. It was very interactive and interesting session. Dr. A. Suphalakshmi, Prof and HOD, CSE Department welcomed the gathering and Mrs M..Sudha Associate professor and Head of ECE Department proposed the vote of thanks. With this, the programme came to an end.
