On behalf of Department of Physics, Paavai Engineering College organized a one day Student Development Academic webinar on “Applications of Magnetic materials for Data Recording & Retrieval Techniques” on 16thJuly, 2021. Mrs.C.Barathi ASP/ Physics, Paavai Engineering College welcomed the gathering.. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College delivered his Presidential Address on the occasion. He addressed on the development of latest technologies. Dr.S.Vadivel, Head of the Department organized the wonderful session and gave the informative talk about the latest development in magnetic materials in Engineering. Prof.M.Mohan, Professor & Head, Science and Humanities, introduced the Chief Guest and gave overview of the importance of magnetic materials. Dr.K.Sadasivam, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam, was the guest of honor. He explained in his presentation about the classification of magnetic materials on the basis of magnetic moments and the study of hysteresis loop that would help in selecting proper and suitable material for a storage device. Also, he explained utilization of magnetic materials in various storage devices including magnetic tape, floppy disks and hard disk drives. Faculty members and students actively participated in the program. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.R.Dhananchezian AP/Physics. The session was very informative and motivating to all the students.
