The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering had organized an online Alumni Guest Lecture on “MICROSOFT ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR TECH JOBS” in association with Alumni Association Cell-Paavai Engineering College and Institution of Engineers (India)on 12thOctober 2021 at 06.30 p.m. through the Microsoft Teams platform. Mr.P.Logesh, Software Engineer, Softura Private Limited, Chennai was the Alumni speaker. The welcome address was given by S.Keerthana from final year ECE and the Alumni speaker was introduced by T.Dhivakaran, from third-year ECE.
Director Administration, Paavai Institutions addressed the students to get new ideas and indulge in new ventures through Microsoft and programmes organized like this. He also motivated the students to utilize the opportunities provided by the Microsoft platform. He also added that by attending such programmes, the students will get more knowledge beyond their syllabus. The alumnus explained about free resources like Github, Freecodecamp, Canva design tool etc. He also stressed the importance of participating in Hackathons and Internship programmes. He also explained the procedures for applying to campus ambassador, conferences, Microsoft Student Partners (MSP), Microsoft Most Valuable Professional(MVP).He clarified the queries posted by the students at the end of the session.
Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by K.Sowmiya from third-year ECE. Dr.M.Sudha, Professor and Head, ECE, Mrs.Renukadevi, Alumni Association coordinator, Mr.S.Sathish, Department Alumni coordinator, Dr.R.Mohana Priya and Mr.S.Loganathan, Department Association coordinators, Faculty members and more than 200 students were present in the meeting. As per the feedback received from the students, it was an interesting and informative session.
