A One Day Webinar on “Birth of the Supersonic Planes – A Course Changing Event in the History of Humankind” was organized by the Department of Aeronautical Engineering on 13/11/2021 between 11.00AM To 12.30 PM. Dr.S.K.Karthick, M.E., Ph.D., M.RAeS.,Technion Wind Tunnel Complex, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa – 3200003, Israel was the Guest Speaker. The Director Administration, Dr.K.K.Ramasamy and the Principal Dr.M.Premkumar supported and guided for the conduct of the program. The webinar was convened by Professor & Head of the Department, Dr.R.Arravind, Co-ordinated by Assistant Professor Mr.K.Gokulnath . The Welcome address was delivered by Ms.S.Dayasri, and the Chief Guest was introduced by Ms.A.Srija, students of Aeronautical Engineering. Faculty members and students from different branches actively participated in the webinar.
Dr.S.K.Karthick explained the concepts of shock waves, wind tunnel testing, various theories related to supersonic speed, divergence, recent aviation trends in high speed aerodynamics, research works on supersonic flows. In the end of the session, he answered the questions of the participants.
All the participated faculty members and students found the program very useful. At the end, MsA.Srija, third year Aeronautical Engineering student delivered the Vote of Thanks.
