The Institution’s Innovation Council in association with the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Paavai Engineering College has organized an online webinar on “Entrepreneurship and Innovation as Career Opportunity” through the Microsoft team’s platform on 18.11.2021 and 19.11.2021 from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
The first-day event (18.11.2021) started with a welcome address by Sretharessesne, a third-year student of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal and President of IIC gave his presidential address. In his address, he emphasized the importance of organizing such programmes for the benefit of students. He also added that students should visit local MSME centres and industries, explore the problems and find out solutions for them.
Sathya from the third year IT introduced the resource person Jc.P.Tamilarasan, The Radicals, Training and Counselling, Salem. The session continued with the resource person talk. In his address, he explained the hurdles which he came across in his life to become a successful entrepreneur. He also discussed the numerous opportunities available to build a strong business. In addition, he enlightened the students with a few tips to start and run a business successfully. He also encouraged the students to work as a team and start a business during their course of study. Followed with his address, queries were posted by the students. The first-day session ended with a Vote of thanks by Shiny from the third-year Food technology department. More than 400+ participants attended the first-day event.
The second-day event (19.11.2021) started with a welcome address by S.Keerthana, a final year student of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department. Following it, R. Mukilan from the third year ECE introduced the resource person Mr.S.SyedFazil Shariq, Project Fellow, Periyar University, Salem. In his address, he explained the shades of social entrepreneurship with a design thinking approach. He also elucidated about the typology of social entrepreneurship its influence, characteristics and social impact. He cited Soorari Potru film for design thinking and compared the different solutions for the problems created. He also motivated the students to think creatively and innovatively. The second-day session ended with a Vote of thanks by Sheela Jenifer from the third-year Electronics and Communication Engineering department. More than 300+ participants attended the second-day event.
Dr.K.Sundara Murthy, Vice President of IIC, Professor of Mechanical, Dr.R.Mohana Priya,Convener of IIC, Associate Professor of ECE and, Dr.P.Pugalenthi, event organiser, Assistant Professor of Mechanical, along with faculty members, internal and external participants were also present in the meeting.
