The Institution’s Innovation Council in association with the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Paavai Engineering College has organized a workshop on “Design Thinking, Critical Thinking And Innovation Design” on 18.12.2021 from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Mrs.A.Sathiya Priya, Associate Director, Dr.Tiru’s Clinic’les Private Limited, Dr.Tiru Rural tourism Private Limited was the resource speaker.
The online workshop started with the welcome address by Jayaprakash from final year Mechanical, Paavai Engineering College. The chief guest introduction was given by Abdullah, Final year Mechanical Engineering. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal and President of IIC gave his presidential address. In his address, he emphasized the importance of organizing such programmes and also insisted that students should gain more knowledge out of these sessions.
The session continued with the resource speaker Mrs.A.Sathiya Priya, Associate Director, Dr.Tiru’s Clinic’les Private Limited talk. She first explained about the expectations from faculty, business people, peers, society, government and interacted with the students about their professional goals and their transformation process. She also explained about achieving success through empowerment. She also gave awareness of profiling inventories. She elucidated about success, fear and disaster zones and asked the participants regarding their zones. She described about Maslow’s theory of needs regarding self-actualization and the benefits of leaving the comfort zone. She also explicated the importance critical thinking and design thinking. She gave some practical examples of outside the box thinking and insisted that collaboration with different teams is essential to become successful innovators. She then stressed the importance of analyzing, problem solving, evaluating and decision-making skills. She also explained about the process of innovation design and posted many queries to check the creativity and thinking skills of the students. The session ended with a Vote of thanks by Selvaprabhu from third year Mechanical Engineering.
Dr.K.SundaraMurthy, Vice President of IIC, Professor of Mechanical, Dr.R.Mohana Priya, Convener of IIC, Associate Professor of ECE , Mr.T.Thangavel, Assistant Professor of Mechanical, event organiser Dr.P.Pugalenthi, EDC Co-coordinator, Professor of Mechanical, along with faculty members, and around300participants were present in the online workshop session.
