The Department of Information Technology, Paavai Engineering College in association with certiport organized a one day guest lecture on “Emerging Trends in IT ” on 28th April 2022 at Kalams chamber. Ms.S.L.Nivetha, Third year B.Tech / IT welcomed the Gathering. Dr.k.Sundaramurthy, Dean Academics, Paavai Engineering College, delivered his presidential address on the occasion. Ms..R.Charulatha from Third Year B.Tech / IT introduced the Chief guest, and the floor was handed over to the Chief Guest Mr.Thanga Pandian, CEO, Certiport, TamilNadu. Mr.Thanga Pandian gave the guidance on the introduction of current Technologies in IT and then explained about Three-vertical in IT (Development, Support, Database), If engineering students learn these three things, they can easily get a job in IT, He shared about his college experience and what he did on his college days usefully. Then he said that the students should not depend on the academics mark only, and he insisted that they should have co-curricular activity that will them help to sustain in the IT industries, He also shared that the Services to be done for a cloud like GCP , AWS ,AZURE and Microsoft, Then asked some question to participants like what is the window frontend and backend? He said, “Marks is not more crucial than Skills”, So he advised the students to learn co-curricular activities then abreast with the technology ,He share about one student who won a AI program competition but now he become entrepreneur, which he inspired in his life. He also created an awareness about Microsoft certiport offering course to students with discount, the session was very informative and interesting. Then the floor was opened to the participants for queries. Finally, the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms.S.Deva Dharshini from Second Year B.Tech / IT.
