The Department of Mechatronics in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council organised an online guest lecture titled “Critical thinking and Design thinking in Innovation” on 17.08.2022.It was aimed at disseminating knowledge to the students about the basic details of Critical thinking, Design thinking and Intellectual Property (IP). The welcome address was given by R. Navanidhan III-MCT. Mr.S.Ramprakash,Manager,Integrated Components and Solution,Caterpillar India Engineering Solutions PVT LTD,Chennai was the resource speaker. Naveen V, III-MCT introduced the resource speaker.
In his address, he briefed about the need for Critical thinking and Design thinking in the field of Engineering with various real-time examples. He also explained the various details of Intellectual Property (IP). He stressed the importance of filing Patents and Trademarks that helps the innovators to prevent their innovations from being misused. Around 110 members participated in the online guest lecture. Queries were posted and it was clarified by the resource speaker.
The session ended with a vote of thanks by Harish B, IV-MCT. The event was organized by Dr. D. R. P. Rajarathnam, HOD, Mechatronics and Dr.R.T. Ajaykarthik, Associate Professor, MCT. Institution’s Innovation Council Vice President of Paavai Engineering College, Dr. K. Sundara Murthy, Professor, Mechanical, Convenor Dr. R. MohanaPriya, ASP/ECE along with IIC and EDC faculty coordinators attended the meeting.
