The Youth Red Cross of Paavai Engineering College in association with the Atchayam Trust, Erode had organized an awareness programme titled “Rehabilitation for the Homeless” on 06th September 2022 in Kalams chamber between 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Mr.P.Naveenkumar M.E, Founder of Atchayam Trust was the Chief Guest. The inauguration started with a prayer song. The welcome address was given by V.Ranjani from Final year ECE. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal Paavai Engineering College gave the presidential address and explained the need of service to others, shared his experiences as a volunteer during his college days and being a part of various social services.
Mr. P. Naveen kumar addressed the students and discussed the importance of humanity, helping homeless people,the hurdles he faced as a volunteer.He also added that one should be both physically and mentally fit to face the challenges ahead. He explained their service and work as how the beggars are identified and the process of rehabilitation, counseling tips for them.The vote of thanks was delivered by N.Subiksha from the third year Agriculture Engineering. Mr.S.Sathish, YRC Coordinator, faculty members and 200+ students participated in the awareness program. The participants gained knowledge about the process of Rehabilitation for the Homeless and different ways to serve the society.
