The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in association with Energy Club of Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) organized a five-day training programme on “PROGRAMMING DELTA PLC USING LD” held from 21.09.2022 to 27.09.2022. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, presided over the function and insisted on the importance of industrial automation for the current scenario to the students.
Mr.S.Aravinth, Senior Project Engineer, IPCS Global Solutions Pvt. Ltd, was the resource person.
The main objective of this training was to make the aspiring engineers aware of the theoretical as well as practical knowledge of Industrial Automation. In the training sessions, step-by-step development of Gate logic, Relay Logic & PLC Ladder logic for industrial applications were demonstrated. Ladder Programming tasks were given to the students after demonstration sessions in order to have a learning experience.
DAY 01:21.09.2022 (WEDNESDAY)
The resource person initiated his lecture with the basics of Programming delta PLC. At the morning session, he explained an overview of PLC software and he also narrated about the objectives, components used in PLC, electro mechanical flux operation video, real-time applications and the scope of using PLC’s. At the afternoon session, he taught about software installation and practising logic gates using LD.
DAY 02:22.09.2022(THURSDAY)
On the second day, he cleared the doubts of our students regarding general topics. Then he explained about DOL starter and gate simulation. In the afternoon session, he was given tasks related to the morning session.
DAY 03:23.09.2022 (FRIDAY)
On the third day, students were assembled in the cute hall for a conceptual presentation. In the morning session, he narrated about the basic learning such as technical words and its applications, electrical measuring instruments interfacing with live examples, interaction about various facilities and opportunities available for the stream of EEE.
DAY 04:24.09.2022(SATURDAY)
On this day, our trainer cleared the doubts of our students about the previous topics. He started his session about timer circuits using LD and given related tasks. In the afternoonsession, he taught about counter circuits using LD like up-down counters, up-counters and its related tasks are also given.
DAY 05:26.09.2022 (MONDAY)
On this day, he cleared the queries of our students in the morning and he took off the session with timer-counter combined circuits using PLC. Also, he was given related tasks. In the afternoon session, he explained the title of “How can we do wiring using PLC” with examples.
DAY 06:27.09.2022 (TUESDAY)
On the last day of our training, he cleared the doubts from overall sessions and also given some tasks to the students to work out from their own. Ultimately, the feedback session with our students would become an end of this training successfully!
After completing this training, students are able to create and design new automation models by using PLC programming logic.
