Paavai Institutions hosted the Paavai Awards ceremony in a grandiose manner under the title “Paavai Viruthugal 22” to honour the best achievers in our language, art, literature, culture and society on 19.11.2022 at Anandha Arangam, Paavai East campus. The ceremony started with an invocation followed by Tamilthaivalthu. The welcome address was given by Shri.CA.NV.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions. Padma Shri Sirpi Balasubramaniyam, Poet, Translator, Professor, and Eminent Educator, Pollachi was the chief guest and presented the awards. In his address, he mentioned that, as “Tirupavai Vaibhava” is known in the month of Margazhi, the award-giving ceremony of Paavai Educational Institutions is known as “Andror Muttram”. He stated, it is a matter of honour to introduce writers among the students, our language, art, literature, culture, science, history, society, and children’s welfare story category, welcomed all the awardees and appreciated their contribution in their respective fields.
Awards under different categories were given to the achievers. “Endrendrum Andror” award was given to Dr. Armoogam Parasuraman, Former Education Minister Mauritius, UNESCO Director and Chairman of Global Rainbow Foundation. Mr.Saidai Duraisamy, Founder and Chairman, Manitha Neyam Charitable Trust, Chennai also received the “Endrendrum Andror” award. In his talk, he explained that a healthy body is the most important aspect that every human being should consider in their lives than anything else. He uttered, “Realize that food is the medicine and the way you take it, is the way you will live your life for long years”. He also insisted that each of us should maintain and protect our health, and do physical exercises to maintain a balanced life.
Mr.T.S.Gnanavel, Jaibeem Film Director received the “Tamil Thirai Vitthakar” award. He insisted reading habits should be inculcated among young minds and conduct book fairs to promote their creative thinking ability. Mrs.Janaki Sabesh, Child Welfare Storyteller received the “Siraar Kathai Sirpi” award. She cited “story is an art and part of our life”. To instill good thoughts and ideas among children, stories must be narrated to them. Mr.Indira Soundarajan and Mr.S.Dharman received the “Tamil Ilakkiya Semmal” award for their excellent contribution and works in the field of novels. Poetess. Vennila and Poet. Mankuthirai received the “Tamil Ilakkiya Semmal” award for Poetry and Mr. Ayesha R.Natarajan, Mr.Maruthan and Mrs.Narayani Subramanian received the “Tamil Ilakkiya Semmal” award for their contribution to the field of Language and Literature. The awardees also asserted that Tamil writings live on forever and have the power to enliven the life of a society. The life experiences of the pioneers are the precedents for the youth to step up to the role model of many inventions and discoveries. They motivated the young minds by sharing the lives of young inventors of Hot Mail- Sabeer Bhatia, Pendrive – Ajay V.Bhatt and the CEO of Google-Sundar Pichai. All the awardees insisted that students should go beyond education and read books to fulfill their childhood dreams.
The award ceremony ended with a Vote of thanks by Smt.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institutions who thanked and acclaimed all the awardees. All the member secretaries and executive members of Paavai Institutions, Directors, Principals, Deans, Controller of Examination, Heads of departments, faculty members, students, Tamil writers, poets and novelists, press and media were a part of the awards ceremony.
