The Department of Agriculture Engineering has conducted a “Pongal celebration” in M.S.Swaminadhan field on 12.01.2023 (Thursday). A festival to thank God for all his goodness and mercies and to look forward to a prosperous year. The students arrived in traditional dhotis and sarees to mark the occasion. The celebration started around 9:30 a.m. The entrance of the field was decorated with colourful Rangoli. Pongal was prepared by the department staff and students. The ceremony was inaugurated by our respected chairman Shri.CA.N.V.NATARAJAN and our correspondent Smt.N.MANGAI NATARAJAN. The Pongal is offered to the sun god on the occasion after it is prepared in a specially decorated pot with religious fervour. Our respected Director Administration Dr.K.K.RAMASAMY, our respected Principal, Dr.M.PREMKUMAR and other dignitaries were also joined the occasion. Our students danced for “Kummi and Silambam.”in the remembrance of our tradition dance. Sweet Pongal was distributed to all the students. The ‘uri adithal’ and kabaddi a traditional game was conducted. Everybody left home with memories as it was yet another joyous celebration in Paavai engineering college.
