The Department of Chemical Engineering, PAAVAI ENGINEERING COLLEGE in association with The Institution of Engineers (India )- Salem local centre has conducted a webinar entitled on “SIZE REDUCTION AND SEPARATION TECHNIQUES APPLIED IN INDUSTRIAL PROCESS ” on 06.03.2023 (Monday). The Webinar started with welcome by Selvi. S.Nishalini of Third year Chemical Engineering. Around 95 participants were participated in the webinar. It was convened by Mr. R. Balasubramani, Head of the Department. The Resource Person of the day is Dr. SHIVAKUMAR ANGADI , Principal scientist ,Mineral processing department, CSIR – Institute of Mineral and Material Technology, Bhubaneshwar. The resource person briefed about the size reduction mechanism and equipments used for size reduction process. He explained about the application of separation techniques in industrial process. The speaker shares about various unit operation involved such as ball milling, particle breakage , Screening, jaw crusher, Magnetic separation, gravity concentrator , hydro cyclones, Knelson concentrator. He felicitates the possible research and development activities in CSIR research centre. The students interacted with the guest speaker with their queries and illuminated themselves .The webinar ended with vote of thanks by Selvan.M.Vasan from Second year Chemical Engineering department.
