The Department of Cyber Security In association with Institution Innovation Council (IIC-PEC) and EDC & The Institution of Engineers (India) Organizes a National Level Seminar organized a two days National level seminar on “HOW TO PLAN FOR STARTUP AND LEGAL & ETHICAL STEPS “on 23.3.2023 and 24.3.2023. Mr.Akash Venketasan ,Technical Trainer Founder and CEO ,Tutelr Infosec PVT.Ltd, Chennai, Mr.Thowbik Ahmed, Cyber Security Engineer, FreshworksIns ,Chennai and Mr.SriramKannan, Cyber Security Analyst,Tutelr Infosec Pvt.Ltd,Chennai were the resource speakers.M.Dharani,II Year Cyber security gave the welcome address. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College gave the presidential address and emphasized that the outcome of learning process must be positive to improve the learning outcomes, so as students gain knowledge and become more efficient. Dr.P.Muthusamy Head of the Department, Cyber security, Master of Computer Applications motivated the students in improving their talents. The technical trainers described about hacking tools and software, the importance of hacking software, the ethical hacking tools and how to use a hacking software. They also elucidated on NMAP- Network Mapper, an open source tool that is widely used to prevent hacking and getting unauthorized access to a computer or network system, Angry IP scanner a lightweight, cross-platform IP address and port scanner, Cain & Abel – a useful tool for security consultants, professional penetration testers and everyone else who plans to use it for ethical reasons, password recovery tool for Microsoft Operating Systems, recovery of various kinds of passwords by employing sniffing the network, cracking encrypted passwords using Dictionary, Brute-Force and Cryptanalysis attacks, recording VoIP conversations, decoding scrambled passwords, recovering wireless network keys, revealing password boxes, uncovering cached passwords and analyzing routing protocols. The session was highly informative about many other hacking tools like Ether Peek, SuperScan, Web Inspect, LANguard Network Security Scanner, Network Stumbler etc. The goal of this seminar is to help students to know more about cyber-attacks and gain hands on experience in ethical hacking and motivate startup ideas. The valedictory function was conducted on 24.3.2023. On the whole this seminar was highly informative on ethical hacking, startup ideas and the students interacted with the resource speakers on various issues on cyber-attacks and how to become a cyber-professional. A total of 150 students participated in this workshop. The students felt that the seminar was interactive with hands-on experience. The function came to an end with vote of thanks.
