The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with Institution’s Innovation Council and Institution of Engineers – IE(I), have organized a seminar titled “The Journey of Entrepreneurship – Organic Products, Milir” on 14.05.2023. It was aimed to bring awareness about the success stories and the hurdles faced by successful entrepreneurs in their startup journey. The welcome address and the Chief guest introduction was given by Ms.Shanmathi of third year ECE.
Mrs.M.P.Amalthi, IIC Innovation Ambassador, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Chevalier T Thomas Elizabeth College for Women was the Chief guest. The session was from 11.00a.m. to 12.30p.m. She explained three concepts involved in the Entrepreneurial journey Innovation, Design thinking and Problem Solving. She portrayed the innovations in various fields. She also elucidated the various steps such as empathise, define, ideate, prototype and test of design thinking.
In addition, she explained the journey of her startup – Milir and the support rendered by her students in various innovations. She motivated the students to do simple projects with the resources available at college and convert them into products. She also shared a video of her startup journey -Milir and its products. She illuminated the students with various queries in the check list for students development and career enhancement. 170 participants attended the seminar session. The session ended with a Vote of Thanks Dr.M.Sudha Prof/Head of the Department/ECE, Dr.R.Mohana Priya, Associate Professor/ECE and Convener of IIC, Mr.S.Sathish, Coordinator and other faculty members of ECE, EDC and IIC coordinators attended the session. The outcome was students were able to realise the various steps to be followed to have their own start-up.
