The Department of English has organized an online Guest Lecture on “English for Employment” on 14th August 2023 at 06.30p.m.. The Resource person was Dr. S. Senthilkumar. Assistant Professor, Department of English, Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai, Tamilnadu.The welcome address was given by Ms.Swathinisree, I / CSE-C.
The objective of this lecture was to create awareness among the students about the importance of effective communication to make themselves employable along with their subject knowledge. The lecture contained the speaker’s personal experience as a beginner in MNC as it required him to excel in communication. A clear picture was given about the corporate culture and the necessity of the effective communication in the present world. He also discussed the prevalent negative factors among the students that prevent them from learning the language, and suggested solutions to overcome it.
Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Rishika, I / CSE-C., the Faculty members and the students around 150 were present in the meeting.
