The Department of Chemical Engineering, PAAVAI ENGINEERING COLLEGE in association with the Institution of Engineers India (IEI), Salem Local Chapter, Salem has conducted a Guest Lecture on the topic “Applications of Simulation Tools in Chemical Process Industries”on 31.08.2023. The guest lecture started with welcome address by Selvi. R.Hemavathi of Third year Chemical Engineering. The function was felicitated by Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal of Paavai Engineering College. The programme was convened by Mr. R. Balasubramani, Head of the Department and faculty members of the department. The chief guest introduction was given by Selvan.N.Gokul of III year Chemical. The Resource Person of the day is Dr.C.Gomadurai, Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering, Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai, Erode district.
The guest briefed about the various simulation tools available and their applications in chemical process industries. He motivated the students on how to use the open source tools available and asked the students to get practiced with recent tools to build their resume and get placed in core companies. The students also interacted with the guest speaker with their queries and illuminated themselves .The function ended with vote of thanks by Selvi.P.Priyadharshini from Third year Chemical Engineering department.
