Intra college competition called “AEROCK’S – 2023” was organized by the Department of Aeronautical Engineering on 06.10.2023. Two events were conducted under this program, Paper Rocketry and Pictorial Puzzle. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College delivered the presidential address. He spoke about the importance of developing a skill and testing it through participation in these types of competitions.
In this competition 250 students from various departments of Paavai Engineering College were registered. Among 150 shortlisted participants, 50 students were participated in Paper rocketry event and 100 students participated in a group in Pictorial Puzzle event. Paper rocketry is a competition where the students build their own aircraft model in A4 size 80 GSM color paper and testing it endurance, range, design, smoothness of landing by hand launching through air; pictorial puzzle is a competition where the students find out the technical answer through puzzle with pictures.
The first two places were awarded with certificate of merit and medal, remaining all the other participants were awarded with certificate of participation. The program was concluded by distribution of certificates by Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal of Paavai Engineering College. All the events were organized by Aeronautical Sector Skill Council student chapter of Department of Aeronautical Engineering in association with Aero modeling club. The event was coordinated by the faculty Dr.D.Deepak., Associate Professor, Aeronautical Engineering and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr R Arravind, Head of Department, Aeronautical Engineering. The event was attended by all the faculty members and students of the department.
