A one day Alumni webinar on the title “Application of Softwares in Structural Detailing” was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering and in association with Paavai Civil Engineering Association, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) on 04.11.2023. Ms.P.N.Thenswetha, Final year student welcomed the gathering. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College delivered his presidential address on this event, he elaborated the opportunities of Civil Engineering profession in the world.
Mrs.K.Sharmiladevi, Head of the Department introduced the speaker and gave an overview about the need for softwares used in structural detailing. Er.M.Sajeethvaibhav B.E., Senior Engineer, DGS Technical Services, Bengaluru was the alumni resource speaker. He briefed about the importance of detailing in structure, use of TEKLA software in structural detailing. Also, discussed about the procedure used for modelling structure in TEKLA with an example. At the end of this Alumni webinar, the students have gained knowledge on application of TEKLA software in structural detailing and modelling.
Faculty members and students have actively participated in the one day alumni webinar and queries from the students were effectively answered by the speaker.
Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr.S.Siva, Third year student and the session was very interactive and knowledgeable.
Prof.K.Sharmiladevi, HoD/Civil, Ms.S.Gayathri,AP/Civil and Mr.A.Jayapal, AP/Civil Faculty coordinators along with faculty members, and around 67 participants were present in the Webinar.
