The Institution’s Innovation Council in association with the Entrepreneurship Development Cell have celebrated the importance of National Startup Day 2024’ with a webinar titled “Startups unlocking infinite potential” on 16.01.2024. It was aimed to promote the awareness about entrepreneurship and contribution of start-ups in the growing Indian economy. The welcome address and the Chief guest introduction was given by Dr.R.Mohana Priya, ASP, ECE. Dr.M.PremKumar, President IIC gave the presidential address where he addressed about start-up ecosystem and the initiatives.
Mr.V.V.Subash, Social Media Manager, Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship, Salem was the guest speaker. The session was from 11.00a.m. to 12.00p.m. He explained the importance of National Startup Day and about the various funding given by the Government for startups. In addition, he explained the ecosystem for aspiring entrepreneurs in various innovations. He also motivated the students to do simple projects with the resources available at college and convert them into products and participate in hackathons and other events to showcase their talents. He also elucidated about the mentorship programmes, innovation hubs and incubation centres to be visited, technology transfer initiatives and also about startup competitions.
More than 80 participants attended the session and it ended with a Vote of Thanks. Dr.I.Rajendiran, Dean, R & I, Dr.K.Sundaramurthy, IIC Vice President, Dr.R.Mohana Priya, Associate Professor/ECE and Convener of IIC, Dr.P.Pugalenthi, EDC Coordinator, and other faculty coordinators of EDC and IIC attended the session. The outcome was students were able to realise the various steps to be followed to have their own start-up.
