On September 20th and 21st, 2024, the Growing Coders Club and the Department of Information Technology at Paavai Engineering College organized a hands-on training session on “AI Animation.” On the first day of the event, Dr. Premkumar, Principal of Paavai Engineering College, delivered the presidential address, and Dr. B. Venkatesan raised awareness about the impact of AI in animation.
We had the privilege of inviting Mrs. P. Devipriya, Frontend Developer and Digital Marketer at Logical Minds IT Solutions, as the resource person to conduct the hands-on training. The first day began with an overview of animation, covering its evolution from traditional methods to digital techniques. Participants explored the role of AI in animation and the various tools available, such as Blender and Adobe Animate. After setting up their work environment, they learned the basic principles of animation and created simple animations using keyframes. The day also included hands-on practice with AI animation tools, where participants experimented and created their own animations. A feedback session at the end allowed participants to share their work and reflect on their learning.
The second day began with a recap of the previous day’s content to reinforce key concepts. Participants then explored advanced techniques, including character rigging and facial animation using AI. They learned how to integrate audio effectively into their animations and discussed various animation workflows. The session concluded with feedback, a group photo, and reflections on the valuable knowledge and collaboration shared over the two days.
