The Department of Cyber Security and MCA organized a guest lecture on “Emerging Trends in Cloud Computing, IT Service Management, and the IT Pre-Sales Process” on October 18, 2024. The resource person was Mr. Prasath Ramanathan, Solution Architect – Cloud Operations, EY GDS Technology, Bengaluru. A. Ajmal Thahseen, a third-year Cyber Security student, introduced the resource person, and S. Varshini, a second-year Cyber Security student, gave the welcome address. Dr. K.K. Ramasamy, Director of Administration at Paavai Institutions, delivered the presidential address, highlighting that the outcome of the learning process should be constructive in enhancing skills and fostering competence. Dr. P. Muthusamy, Head of the Department of Cyber Security and Master of Computer Applications, encouraged students to improve their abilities.
Mr. Prasath Ramanathan shared insights on key trends in cloud computing, IT service management, and the IT pre-sales process. He discussed the shift towards hybrid and multi-cloud strategies, which enable organizations to optimize resources and enhance flexibility. In ITSM, he explained how the integration of AI and automation is enhancing efficiency and improving incident response through predictive analytics. He also emphasized the importance of data-driven decision-making in the pre-sales process and highlighted the need for personalized client engagement. Additionally, he noted the growing focus on cybersecurity and compliance as essential for building trust. Overall, Mr. Ramanathan conveyed that agility and a customer-centric approach are crucial for success in today’s IT landscape.
