A one-day guest lecture titled “Introduction to Primavera Software” was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering in association with the Paavai Civil Engineering Association, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), on 16th November 2024. The event commenced with a warm welcome delivered by Mr. M. Dhanush, a third-year student, followed by an introduction of the Chief Guest by Ms. R. Priyadharshini, a second-year student.
Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal of Paavai Engineering College, delivered the presidential address. He elaborated on the purpose and importance of various software tools used in the field of Civil Engineering. Mrs. K. Sharmiladevi, Head of the Department, provided an overview of the significance of Primavera software in Civil Engineering projects and introduced the resource speaker.
The guest lecture featured Er. Lavanya C.U., M.E., Project Manager at TVM Engineering Construction, Coimbatore, as the resource speaker. She emphasized the importance of Primavera software in scheduling and managing Civil Engineering projects. Her lecture included an explanation of the key elements and various stages of construction and project management. Additionally, she provided a live demonstration of the Primavera software, which was well-received by the students.
Faculty members and students actively participated in the guest lecture, and the resource speaker addressed student queries effectively, making the session interactive and insightful.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. M. Jannathul Roshni, a second-year student. The session was highly interactive and knowledgeable for all participants.
Prof. K. Sharmiladevi, Head of the Department, along with Mrs. S. Rajeswari, Assistant Professor (Civil), and Mr. P. Vignesh, Assistant Professor (Civil), served as the faculty coordinators for the event. Approximately 70 participants, including faculty members and students, attended the guest lecture, making it a successful and engaging event.
