The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), in association with the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a Guest Lecture on “Innovative FIR Filter Design Techniques” on March 13, 2025. The session aimed to impart knowledge on Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to students.
The welcome address and introduction of the resource speaker were delivered by Ms. R. Sandhiya, a second-year ECE student.
The guest lecture was conducted by Dr. A. Sridevi, B.E., M.E., Ph.D., Professor, Department of ECE, M. Kumarasamy College of Engineering, Karur. In her session, she began by introducing the fundamentals of FIR filters and then provided an in-depth exploration of advanced FIR filter design methodologies and their applications in modern signal processing. She also discussed innovative FIR filter design techniques, engaging students with basic problem-solving exercises using various filter design methods.
The online session saw participation from around 120 members, with students actively posting queries, which were clarified by the resource speaker.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. S. Sivasri, a second-year ECE student.
The event was successfully organized by Mrs. A. Samundeeswari, Associate Professor, ECE, and Mrs. L. Sujitha, Assistant Professor, ECE. Dr. R. Mohana Priya, Professor and Head, ECE, along with faculty members of the ECE department, also attended the lecture.
