On 11th August 2025, the Youth Red Cross (YRC) and Anti-Drug Club of Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) took a powerful stand against drug abuse by organizing a Mass Anti-Drug Pledge, during which 4,140 students and 386 faculty members solemnly vowed to lead a drug-free life and work towards creating a healthier society. To create awareness among students and the community, a competition programme was organized. The programme, held in the Drawing Hall, Main Block, from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM, featured an Anti-Drug Awareness Competition aimed at encouraging students to spread the message through creative and intellectual expression. The Drawing Competition saw the participation of 26 students, who used their artistic skills to portray the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of healthy living, while 21 students took part in the Essay Writing Competition, penning impactful narratives and persuasive arguments on the need for collective action against drugs. The event not only showcased the talent and awareness of the students but also strengthened the institution’s commitment to social responsibility and public health. Guided by Faculty Coordinators Mr. S. Sathish (AP/CSE–IoT) and Mr. S. Jotheeswaran (AP/BME), and under the convenorship of Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, the programme concluded with a resounding message: “Say No to Drugs – Yes to Life!”
