The Department of Agricultural Engineering, in collaboration with Paavai Organic Farming, organized a four-day Tractor Workshop from 4 to 7th July 2025 at the M.S. Swaminathan Vayal Kudam, Paavai Campus.
The objective of the workshop was to provide participants with practical training in tractor operations, system functionalities, maintenance procedures, and their applications in sustainable agriculture.
The inaugural session was presided over by Dr. P. Tamilchelvan, Professor (Agriculture), and overseen by Dr. B. Kailashkumar, Head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering.
Technical demonstrations were conducted by Mahindra Tractors, Namakkal, with expert instruction from Mr. R. N. Moulishwaran, a distinguished alumnus of the institution. The workshop included comprehensive training on engine operations, routine maintenance practices, field preparation, implement usage, and operational safety.
All faculty members of the Department of Agricultural Engineering actively participated in the event, ensuring its smooth execution and effectiveness.
The program was coordinated by Er. U. Karthickeya, Lecturer, Farm Superintendent, and Paavai Organic Farming Coordinator, along with Mr. R. Gopikrishnan, Teaching Research Associate (Agriculture).
The workshop successfully enhanced the technical proficiency of participants while reinforcing the integration of theoretical knowledge with field-based applications in farm mechanization.
