An Industrial Seminar on “Innovation, Grit and Building: What Farming Truly Needs” was successfully organized on August 08, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Kalam’s Chamber. The event was efficiently coordinated and hosted by Ms. K.S. Subha and Mr. A. Meignanamoorthi, Assistant Professors of Agricultural Engineering. The session, attended by over 250 students, featured Mrs. Aushta Laxmi, Founder & CEO, Faggro Agri Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, as the Guest Speaker.
The seminar commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. B. Kailashkumar, HoD, Department of Agricultural Engineering, followed by a detailed introduction of the resource person by Ms. R.S. Rashmika, IV year B.Tech (Agri).
As a token of gratitude and appreciation, our respected Principal, Dr. M. Premkumar, presented a memento to Mrs. Aushta Laxmi. This gesture symbolised our acknowledgment of her valuable time, inspiring address, and the knowledge she shared with our students.
In his Presidential Address, Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, emphasized that our nation’s prosperity is deeply rooted in the innovations and efforts of farmers and agricultural scientists. He highlighted the importance of strategic projects and research initiatives to enhance productivity, sustainability, and rural livelihoods. He urged students to embrace modern technologies, value-added practices, and eco-friendly solutions to strengthen India’s agricultural backbone.
The Guest Lecture by Mrs. Aushta Laxmi was both inspiring and thought-provoking. She introduced the company’s pioneering products and services, including precision farming solutions, smart irrigation systems, sustainable agri-inputs, and AI-driven crop monitoring tools that help farmers optimize yield and resource use. She captivated the audience by sharing her entrepreneurial journey, narrating the struggles she faced, and how perseverance and innovation turned challenges into opportunities. Her words motivated students to think beyond limits, embrace creativity, and apply resilience in problem-solving.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, which gave students a deeper understanding of how continuous innovation can overcome challenges and ensure the long-term sustainability of agribusinesses.
Finally, Ms. A. Aishwarya, III year B.Tech (Agri), delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker and all participants for making the seminar both insightful and impactful.
