The Department of Civil Engineering, in association with Paavai Civil Engineering Association, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), organized a one-day technical webinar on the topic “Career Opportunities after B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering” on 23.08.2025.
Ms. R. Priyadharshini, a third-year student, welcomed the gathering, and Ms. S. Manoranjani, a second-year student, introduced the Chief Guest.
Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal of Paavai Engineering College, delivered the presidential address and elaborated on the wide range of career paths available after graduation. Prof. K. Sharmiladevi, Head of the Department, introduced the resource speaker and provided an overview of career opportunities in various sectors.
The resource speaker, Er. Kaushik Agastya Raj, M.Tech., Senior Faculty, ACE Engineering Academy, Hyderabad, delivered an insightful session. He provided detailed information on higher education options such as M.Tech, MBA, MS, and research fellowships in IITs, NITs, and IIITs. He also shared valuable guidance on competitive examinations including GATE, IES, and PSU recruitments, highlighting the avenues they open in central and state government departments.
The webinar was coordinated by Prof. K. Sharmiladevi, HoD/Civil, along with Mr. A. Jayapal, AP/Civil, and Mr. P. Vignesh, AP/Civil. Around 75 participants, including faculty members and students, attended the session.
Finally, Mr. M. Dhanush, a final-year student, proposed the vote of thanks. The one-day technical webinar concluded successfully, leaving participants with valuable knowledge and insights about career opportunities in civil engineering.
