The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Safety & Fire Engineering of Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), Namakkal, in association with the Resource Club and ASME Student Chapter, organized an Online Guest Lecture on “Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing: Bridging Research and Industrial Practice” on 26th September 2025 (Friday) from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. through the Microsoft Teams platform.
The resource person, Dr. B. Arul Murugan, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, delivered an insightful and comprehensive lecture covering the fundamentals, applications, challenges, and future scope of Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM). He emphasized its potential to transform modern manufacturing industries, explained the advantages of WAAM over conventional methods, and highlighted its growing applications in aerospace, automotive, and marine sectors.
