The Department of Chemistry organized an online Guest Lecture on “Role of Nanotechnology and Artificial Intelligence in Energy Devices” on 21st November 2025 at 06.30 p.m. through the Microsoft Teams platform. The resource person was Dr. P. Pachamuthu, Assistant Professor, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli. The welcome address and chief guest introduction were given by Mr. A. Jeeva, Assistant Professor, Chemistry.
The objective of conducting the online guest lecture was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how emerging technologies such as nanotechnology and artificial intelligence are transforming modern energy systems. It also aimed to create awareness about current research trends, innovations, and industrial developments in sustainable energy technologies.
As an outcome of the webinar, students gained clear insights into the principles of nanotechnology and artificial intelligence and their relevance to modern energy devices. Participants understood the real-world applications of nanomaterials, smart algorithms, and AI-based optimization in improving the efficiency and performance of energy systems.
Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. E. Vijayakumar, Assistant Professor, Chemistry. Faculty members and more than 600 students participated in the meeting. Feedback was collected from the students for further improvement, if required.
