SIMTRIX is a simulation competition held on 28.01.2026 at the ABB-AMS Robotic Technology Hub by the Paavai Innovation Forum. The primary goal of this simulation competition is to raise awareness and interest in learning about cutting-edge skill like robot programming and simulation among the students’ community.
We have circulated the poster to invite students from various domains in our Paavai Engineering College, ranging from II-Year to Final Year, to participate in this competition. Initially for fifteen minutes, I Introduced the fundamentals like Robot installation, Tool attachment to the robot, Virtual IRC5 Controller, jogging of robot, Work envelope, Definition of Targets, Robot Axis, Motion of Robot, & How to create targets, paths, simulating the IRB 1200 Model robot in ABB Robot Studio. The responsibility of developing a program to simulate an IRB 1200 model robot along with Binzel air 22 for welding operations was later assigned to them as a competition task. Before starting the simulation competition 15 minutes time have given for the students to create targets paths over the GUI of ABB Robot studio. Initially the following competition rules have been informed to students.
The students who finish all the above 4 points within a prescribe time will be treated as winner.
Finally, a time limit of 20 minutes is set to create program & simulate IRB 1200 model robot in ABB Robot Studio.
In this competition there are 2 students who have been selected as the winners.
I – Prize: SIRANJEEVI.N III-Year, R & A. (Simulated Time: 10 Minutes)
II– Prize: ARJUN.K III- Year, Mech. (Simulated Time: 16 Minutes)
