The Department of Cyber Security organized a Guest Lecture on “Cyber Security in the Age of AI” on 07.02.2026 at Kalam’s Chamber. The resource person was Mr. Sabarinathan Muthu, Founder and CEO of Gateway Software Solutions, Coimbatore. The session commenced with prayer song by Ms.Naveena .R, third year Cyber Security and Ms. Leena Sri., second year Cyber Security.
Ms. N. Nasiba Banu, third year Cyber Security introduced the resource person and Srija .S, third year, Cyber Security, gave the welcome address. Dr. K.K. Ramasamy, Director Administrations, Paavai Institutions, gave the presidential address and emphasized that the outcome of the learning process should be structured and progressive to effectively strengthen skills in Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, and defense strategies against emerging threats. Dr. P. Muthusamy, Head of the Department, Cyber security and Master of Computer Applications motivated the students in improving their talents. The MoU was signed with the following objectives to strengthen industry–academia collaboration in the field of cybersecurity to facilitate internships, live projects, promote research, innovation ideas, workshops, seminars, guest lectures and certification programmes. Mr. Sabarinathan Muthu emphasized the critical role of cybersecurity in safeguarding digital assets in today’s AI-driven era. He introduced key cybersecurity concepts, explained real-world applications of AI in threat detection and analysis, and highlighted the importance of developing industry-ready skills. He also demonstrated AI-powered threat detection, anomaly identification, and the standard workflow followed in cybersecurity projects. He highlighted a range of widely used tools such as Wireshark, Snort, Darktrace, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, IBM QRadar employed in the industry and about security frameworks that are integral to modern industry practices. The session was dynamic and engaging, with students participating actively in discussions and posing insightful questions to enhance their understanding of cyber defense frameworks and AI-powered security solutions. A total of 250 students and 15 faculty members participated in this workshop. The students felt that this session was interactive with hands-on experience. The entire session was coordinated by the faculty coordinators Dr.S.Sasikala,ASP ,Cybersecurity and J.Velumani, ASP, Cyber Security. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Harini, a third-year Cyber Security student.
