The Department of Mechatronics Engineering and the Department of Robotics & Automation, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), organized a Field / Exposure Visit on 19th February 2026 to PSG College of Technology. The visit was arranged to provide students with practical exposure to innovation ecosystems, pre-incubation activities, and emerging technologies relevant to Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation.
Approximately 20 students, along with faculty members, participated in the visit. The session was conducted by Mr. Ajay and Ms. Dhivya, Master Trainers from PSG College of Technology. The resource persons delivered an insightful session on innovation-driven product development, start-up opportunities, and the importance of pre-incubation support for aspiring student entrepreneurs. The visit also highlighted real-time industrial applications of robotics, automation systems, and interdisciplinary engineering practices.
During the session, students gained knowledge about the innovation process and idea validation, the role of incubation and pre-incubation centres, industry expectations and required technical skills, the product development lifecycle, and funding opportunities within the start-up ecosystem. An interactive discussion was conducted, during which students actively clarified their doubts regarding career opportunities, research prospects, and start-up development.
The field exposure visit enhanced the students’ understanding of industrial practices and encouraged innovative thinking. It motivated them towards research, entrepreneurship, and product development. Overall, the visit was highly informative and beneficial, helping students connect academic learning with real-world applications and inspiring them to explore emerging technologies and start-up initiatives.
