A one-day technical webinar on the title “SUSTAINABLE AND DURABLE REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURES” was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering in association with Paavai Civil Engineering Association, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) on 17.08.2022. Mr. A.Ignashious Pinto,a Final year student welcomed the gathering. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College delivered his presidential address on this event, he elaborated on various sustainable methods in concrete construction.
Mrs.K.Sharmiladevi, Head of the Department introduced the speaker and gave an overview of the need for durable concrete construction.Dr.M.S.Haji Sheik Mohammed, Professor of Civil Engineering & Dean – Academic Affairs, School of Infrastructure, B.S.Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai was the resource speaker.He briefed about the need for durable concrete construction, corrosion prevention in RC structures and various corrosion inhibitors. At the end of this technical webinar, the students gained knowledge on corrosion prevention and various surface coatings existing in the present scenario
Faculty members and students actively participated in the one-day webinar and queries from the students were effectively replied by the speaker.
Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr.R.Surya,final-year student and the session was very interactive and knowledgeable.
