The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized an Online Webinar on “HOW TO GET RESEARCH INTERNSHIP AT MITACS” on 23rd August 2021 at 4.00 p.m. through Microsoft Teams. The Webinar speakers areN. Yuthan,A. Thirupughalvan andM. Pragadeesh, IV Yearstudents of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department. The welcome address was delivered by B. Ramachandra, Final year student of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department. Dr.M.Sudha, Head of the Department, also emphasized the importance of applying for such Internships.
The first part of the session was handled by M. Pragadeesh. He delivered the introduction of the MITACS global research internship. He explained the importance of the programme, its schedule and gave an overview of the application process.
The second part of the session was delivered by N. Yuthan. He illustrated the eligibility requirements including age, required area of interest and discipline, eligible countries, selection of projects, duration of the internship and procedure for the application. In addition, he also described the preparation of an efficient CV/Resume for the application to be shortlisted.
Third and final part of the session was explained by A. Thirupughalvan. He clearly explained the status of the application for the MITACS global research internship after the submission process. He elucidated the categories of the application status. He clarified how to schedule the interview with the guide of the selected project and the interview process.

As per the feedback report from the students, it was a very useful, informative and interesting session. It was a good learning experience. The webinar helped them to know the importance of the MITACS Internship and its importance.
