A one-day technical webinar on the title “RECENT ADVANCES IN CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TESTING” was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering in association with Paavai Civil Engineering Association, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) on 09.01.2023. Ms.P.N.Thenswetha, Third year student welcomed the gathering. Mr.R.Surya, Final year student introduced the chief guest.
Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College delivered his presidential address on this event, he elaborated the purpose of various construction materials used in concrete.Mrs.K.Sharmiladevi, Head of the Department introduced the speaker and gave an overview about the need for construction materials testing.
Prof.Gobinath Selvaraju, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Bengaluru was the resource speaker.
He briefed about the various tests conducted for different construction materials and also about the need, standards and career opportunities in Material testing. At the end of this technical webinar, the students gained knowledge on recent advances in construction materials testing and various testing machines. Faculty members and students actively participated in the one-day webinar and queries from the students were effectively replied by the speaker.
Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.R.Sharumathi, Third year student and the session was very interactive and knowledgeable.
Prof.K.Sharmiladevi, HoD/Civil, Mr.A.Jayapal, AP/Civil and Ms.S.Gayathri, AP/Civil Faculty coordinators along with faculty members, and around 70 participants were present in the technical webinar.
