A one day guest lecture on the title “BRIDGE MODELING AND DETAILING USING TEKLA STRUCTURE” was organized on 05.02.2020 by the Department of Civil Engineering , Paavai Engineering College at Kalams chamber. Er. P.Suresh Anand , Design Engineer and Consultant for R.C.C structure and steel structure in C Cube technologies Salem was the chief guest of the day. Ms.S.Sushma ,second year student welcomed the gathering and Mr.P.Akshay third year student gave a brief introduction about the chief guest. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal , Paavai Engineering College delivered his presidential address on the occasion .He addressed that, the students should be updated and dynamic to meet the expectations of the industry. Er.P.Suresh Anand, spoke elaborately about the TEKLA structure. He explained by using this how a civil engineer can design a building structure and its components using 3D modeling, generate 2D drawings and access building information. He explained how TEKLA structure is used in the construction industry for steel and concrete detailing precast and cast-in-situ and how it guides them through the process from concept to fabrication. Faculty members and students actively participated in the program .The queries from the students and faculty members were effectively replied by the chief guest. Finally the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr.S.Kishore ,second year student and totally 200 students were benefited from this programme.
