A one day alumni guest lecture on the topic “ Application of Big Data Cloud for Efficient ERP Solutions” was organized by the department of Computer Science and Engineering, Paavai Engineering College, on 14.06.2019. Mr. V. Krishna Moorthy, SAP Cloud ERP & BI Consultant, an alumnus from the batch 2012 – 2016, was the chief guest of the day. The session started with a prayer song. Mr. R. Lourdu Xavier of final year CSE, welcomed the gathering. Dr.M. Prem kumar, The principal, Paavai Engineering College, in the presidential address, urged the students to have innovative thinking improving the knowledge and skills. He said that there are plenty of opportunities for the engineering graduates both at the corporate end and at other domains. He told the students that they should be passionate towards their goal and implement the theory concepts practically. Mr. S. Raventh, Third year CSE, introduced the guest speaker to the gathering. Dr. A.Suphalakshmi, HOD, CSE, welcomed the guest by presenting a bouquet and memento. Mr. Krishna, in his keynote address, mentioned the three major concepts namely Enterprise Resource Planning, Enterprise Content Management, Enterprise Information services, which a business enterprise should inculcate to achieve profitability economically. He concentrated more on explaining “ERP for business process model” where the students understood about the big data analytics in an organization. He also explained cloud deployment and service models such as IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and big data concepts. Finally, He suggested the students to subscribe and undergo short term training in community forums to update their knowledge and complete mini projects using simple applications. The guest lecture ended with a questionnaire session. Ms. J.Monisha, Final year CSE, proposed the vote of thanks. HoDs’, faculty members, students from CSE, IT of Paavai Engineering College, Paavai Polytechnic College, Paavai Arts and science College for Women, were present in the session.
