The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with the Institution of Engineers of India, IE(I) –Salem Local Centre, Salem organised an online guest lecture titled “Antenna Design and its Applications” on 12.08.2022.It was aimed at disseminating knowledge to students about the basic field patterns, its design and applications in various arenas. Welcome address was given by Dr.R.MohanaPriya, Associate Professor,ECE. Dr.R.Sudarmani, Associate Professor, Department of ECE, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore was the resource speaker. Ms.N.Shanmathi, from third year ECE introduced the resource speaker.
In her address,she briefed about the need for an antenna and types of antenna arrays. She also explained the various antenna parameters for design applications. She stressed the importance of MATLAB programming for different antenna design applications and simulated few programs for better understanding of the students. It helped the students to gain information on need for antenna design, its types and uses in daily life and electronics. Around 70 members participated in the online guest lecture. Queries were posted and it was clarified by the resource speaker.
The session ended with a Vote of Thanks. Dr.T.Loganayaki, Professor, ECE and Dr.R.MohanaPriya, Associate Professor, ECE along with Institution of Engineers of India, IE(I) coordinator, Mr.S.Loganathan organised the event.
