The department of Information Technology organized a two day National level Workshop & Hands on training on “G Suite for Education” in association with the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) on 24.9.2018 & 25.9.2018 in cute hall of Paavai Engineering college. The function started with Prayer song. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, presided over the function. In his presidential address, he insisted that it is responsible for every teacher to update the new technology and they should incorporate these technologies in their teaching. He also suggested that the teacher should motivate the students to learn these new technologies for their effective learning. Mr.Ragesh Raju, Assistant Professor & Google certified educator- Level 2, Department of Computer Applications, St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore, was the chief guest and he gave his keynote address where he stressed that the teachers should focus on the online classrooms. He gave a brief introduction about the MOOCs which are related to pedagogy, virtual labs, Gamification in education and the discuss forum. Regarding G Suite he explained Google suite is one of the E-learning technique which offers a plenty of opportunities for the learners to explore various options in front of them to leverage E-learning. In the lab sessions the chief guest presented a live demonstration on how to use Google Docs, Google sheet, Google slides and Google forms. He also demonstrated how to start the Google classroom so that the participants they can effectively utilize their class hours to the students by giving assignments and conducting the quiz via Google Classrooms. He also made the entire participants to create their own website.
