The department of MCA organized two days Alumni Guest Lecture on “Introduction to Various Software Domain Tools” on 3rd and 4th June 2019. Mr. Guggilla Venkateswarlu, Alumni Guest Speaker Senior System Analyst, Professional Access, Bangalore, was the chief guest for the function. The function started on a divine note with the prayer song. Ms. M. Vaishali of III MCA welcomed the gathering. The function was presided over by Mr. S. Senthil Velan, Associate Professor, Paavai Engineering College.The chief guest, Mr. Guggilla Venkateswarlu, in his keynote address, instructed the Final year MCA students to gain the basics of every subject associated with them and to get 100% employability. He briefed the staff members about Software Development Process, Project Team Hierarchy like Head of Development, System analyst, Project Manager, Business Manager, Software Development Manager, Quality Manager and their roles in Software Development. He explained in detail about hiring process steps involved the need, plan, job description, post and promote job openings, recruiting, applicant screening, interviews, applicant talent assessment, hiring and on boarding. Then, he narrated software development trends, challenges in software development, primary programming language, tools used for project management, source code management tools, hiring criteria, developer performance, delivery problems in software teams and project execution trends, methods with live examples.The sessions were highly interactive and the queries of the students were clearly clarified by the resource person. The students and staff members were able to understand software development process concepts and develop the software along with the latest technology.Earlier, Introduction of the chief guest was given by Ms.M.Subha of III MCA. The function concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. S. Senthil Velan, Heads of various departments and faculty members participated in the guest lecture programme and made it a grand success. Students from MCA department and CSe, IT Dept staff members actively participated with full zeal and were benefitted by this programme.
