The departments of MCA and MBA jointly organized a one day seminar on ‘Solving the Real Life Problems using Internet of Things’ on 13th October 2018. Mr.D.Muthuramalingam, Software Engineer, Advanced Millennium Technology Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore, was the chief guest for the function. The function started on a divine note with the prayer song. Ms.K.Sudha of II MCA welcomed the gathering. The function was presided over by Dr. M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College. Dr.M.Premkumar, in his presidential address, insisted the students to become masters in their specialized area. He emphasized the students to practice and improve the communication skills in order to communicate properly to face the company interview successfully. Finally, he stressed the students to get ready for employability with the latest technology. The chief guest, Mr.D.Muthuramalingam, in his keynote address, instructed the students to gain the knowledge with the Internet of Things (IoT) technology and get easy employability around the world. He briefed the students about Internet Revolution, Impact of Internet, IoT Introduction, IoT Life Cycle, Architecture of IoT, Sensors, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Near Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth, WiFi and Wireless concepts with examples. He explained in detail about various Issues of IoT and the overcoming methods for these issues. Finally, he demonstrated IoT with real life applications like Smart Home, Industrial Internet, Smart Cities and IoT Agriculture with Apps. The sessions were highly interactive and the queries of the students were clearly clarified by the resource persons. The outcome of the one day seminar is that the students are able to understand Internet of Things concepts, to innovate the IoT devices and the applications for our environment. Earlier, Introduction of the chief guest was given by Ms.P.Manjula of II MCA. The function concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. B.Brindha, III MCA. Heads of various departments, Professors and Assistant Professors participated in the guest lecture programme and made it a grand success. Students from MCA and MBA departments actively participated with full zeal and were benefitted by this programme.
