The department of Mechatronics, Paavai Engineering College organized a one-day webinar on “Design Thinking and Innovation” on 24th September 2021. Mr. S.B.Thinesh, final Year B.E/MCT welcomed the 2nd, 3rd and final year students of the Department of Mechatronics. Dr.M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, motivated the students to learn the process for creative problem solving. Ms. P. Tharani, final year B.E/MCT introduced the chief guest, Dr. Praveen Kumar Subramanian, Associate Professor, Department Mechatronics Engineering, Kongu Engineering College, Erode. During the session, he enlightened the design thinking is a process for creative problem solving. He explained how to focus on the people they are creating for, which leads to better products, services, and internal processes. He briefed about the concerns regarding in employing design thinking, you are pulling together what is desirable from a human point of view with what is technologically feasible and economically viable. It also allows those who aren’t trained as designers to use creative tools to address a vast range of challenges. The process starts with taking action and understanding the right questions. It’s about embracing simple mindset shifts and tackling problems from a new direction. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.N. Hariprasath, final Year B.E/MCT. The webinar helped the students as well as staff in understanding the new innovative things. The session was very informative and interesting.
