The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized the inauguration of “Paavai Association of Communication Engineers”- (PACE)on 25th August 2021 at 3.00 p.m. through Microsoft Teams. Dr.Harry Gilbert, Senior Geologist, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, Chennai was the resource person. The welcome address was delivered by S.Sretharessene, a third-year student of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department. M.V.Yuvabharathi, a final year student introduced the Keynote speaker.
Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College gave the presidential address. In his address, he stressed the need for holistic development for the growth of the students. Students should be highly responsible citizens and equip themselves with the latest technologies. He also added that students should make use of different clubs associated with the Department such as the Electronics Club, Fine Arts and Societal Development and Welfare Club. He also appreciated and congratulated the members of PACE.
In the keynote address, Dr.Harry Gilbert, Senior Geologist, ONGC addressed the students. He declared the names of the Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer and congratulated them. He stressed “Survival of the fittest”, added that Engineers are the backbone in exploring new ideas and they form the wheel of new technology. He also commended that, apart from such pandemic situations, regular events are continuously organized for the welfare of the students. He explained that smart work is needed rather than hard work to sustain in today scenario. He also insisted the students work towards their goal with patience, dedication and enthusiasm.
Followed with it, the office bearers introduction, faculty and student coordinators of different clubs were given by Dr.R.Mohana Priya, Associate Professor, ECE. She added that students must put their best efforts into their daily spheres of work for the department as well as societal growth.
Dr.M.Sudha, Headof the Department gave the felicitation address. She congratulated the different members of the Association and insisted that by providing such an opportunity to students, they can prove their leadership traits and reach great heights. Finally, the vote of thanks was given by B. Ramachandra, a final year ECE student.
