Paavai Institutions organized an Investiture Ceremony for senior students of Paavai Engineering colleges on 09.08.2019 at ANANDHA ARANGAM, Paavai Engineering College. Presiding over the function Shri.CA N.V.NATARAJAN greeted the members of various committees such as Discipline committee, Cultural committee, Communication committee, Gardening committee, Event committee, Prayer committee, Temple committee, Health & Hygiene committee and Hostel committee consisting of members from Paavai Engineering College, Paavai College of Engineering, and Paavai College of Technology. He honoured the captains with badge and solemnised the appointment. He also administered the oath which stated that “the leader will discharge their duties without fear or favour and also that they will not do anything which demeans their appointment or lessen the image of the institution”. The first year students were given opportunity to come on to the stage to recite Paavai slogans “Healthy Paavai! Wealthy Paavai! Powerful Paavai! ” Following the recital of Paavai slogans, ’Paavai procedure’ had been read out both in English and Tamil. The procedure entails “When we try and try, we will see the determined progress”. Hence the progress is due to one’s continuous and constant efforts. After this, Chairman delivered his inaugural address describing the various characteristics of the leaders and the responsibilities. He said “A captain should be exemplary at all times”. There must be a goal for the leaders and ceaseless effort is necessary to achieve that goal. The captain must always encourage himself and also execute various tactics and techniques to motivate others too. The main quality for the captain is that, he must have courage, confidence, ability to handle challenges easily, honest thoughts and ability to make decisions according to the situations under any circumstances, the desire to know anything deeper in order to reach the goal. Equally it is important to have qualities such as passion, devotion, modesty, humanity, compassion, empathy and effective communication. The Chairman highlighted incident from the lives of great leaders like Karmavirar Kamarajar, Dr A.P.J.Abdul Kalam saying that “Every leader should be on the path that no one has travelled and create the path for the followers”. After the inaugural address, Mrs MANGAI NATARAJAN, the Correspondent, Paavai Institutions felicitated the gathering. She reiterated the accountability and responsibility of a leader and concluded that self-esteem, self-confidence, self-management and professionalism in every walk of life will bring joy, peace and prosperity. She pointed out that, proper direction and good inspiration will help everyone to reach their destination. Earlier the correspondent led the lighting of the Kuthuvilakku along with the dignitaries on the dias. Directors, Deans and Principal graced the occasion. CHERUB EBENEZER, first year ECE of Paavai Engineering College welcomed the audience and SANDRA ELIZABETH, Second year Biomedical of Paavai Engineering College proposed the vote of thanks.
