Paavai Engineering College organised the Nss Camp at Kannurpatti on 20.03.2019 to 26.03.2019.We started the inauguration of the Special Camp at 3 p.m. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, Namakkal, was the chief guest and he delivered a special speech to the NSS volunteers. He discussed the various factors which lead to the depletion of natural resources. He appreciated the students for joining the NSS scheme and encouraged them to involve themselves in several social service practices. Mrs.R.Selvam, Head Mistress, Government Middle School, Kannurpatti, felicitated the gathering. After inaugural function, we had group discussion with the public as well as with the Ex. Panchayat President V.Palanivel about the activities of the camp.We whitewashed the Anganwadi school compound walls and repainted the Samuthaya Kudam and Government Middle School walls at Kannurpatti.A seminar on “Let’s Adore the Feminine” was given by Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics, Paavai Engineering College. The students and the public participated in the seminar.We conducted various competitions to the school students like Drawing, Essay writing, Musical chair, Dancing and Singing to encourage their talents.A seminar on the title “Natural foods and its Importance” was given by Dr.P.Muthusamy, Head, Department of Master of Computer Applications, Paavai Engineering College. The students and the public were the beneficiaries.A free Medical camp was conducted by the Doctors and team members of Pudhuchattram and Vinaiteerthapuram Government Hospitals. More than 100 persons were benefitted by this activity.A seminar on “Life without plastic is a life of peace” was given by Dr.S.Vadivel, Head, Department of Physics, Paavai Engineering College. The students and the public were benefited.We conducted Plastic awareness rally to prevent the usage of polythene bags and plastic bottles. We gave the awareness about effects of plastic usage on human health and environment to the public. We issued the cloth bags to the public. We organized street play to know the effects of plastics and awareness was created about their Right to vote for their country during elections.A seminar on the title “Empowering Youth Parliament and Votes” was given by Dr.V.Manivannan, Assistant Professor, Chemistry, Thiruvalluvar Government Arts and Science College, Rasipuram. The students and the public were benefited.We planted the saplings around the school premises, streets and the lakes. We also planted saplings at every house.A seminar on “Cyber Crimes and Preventions” was given by Dr.R.Arangasamy, Head, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Paavai Engineering College. The students and the public were benefited.The valedictory function for the camp was organized by 3’o clock in the evening The function was presided over by Dr. K.K.Ramasamy, Director-Administration, Paavai Educational Institutions and Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College. Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, in his Presidential address, stressed the students to gather the new ideas and create innovations to do service to the society. The Report of the special camp was presented by Mr.C.Rathnakumar, NSS Programme officer, Paavai Engineering College. Mr.V.Palanivel, Ex. Panchayat President, Kannurpatti and Mrs.R.Selvam, Head Mistress, Government Middle School, Kannurpatti, felicitated the gathering. Prizes were given to the school children who won the competition like Essay writing, Oratorical, Singing, Drawing etc. Finally Dr.D.R.P.Rajarathinam, Head, Department of Mechatronics, Paavai Engineering College delivered the vote of thanks.
