The department of Science and Humanities of Paavai Engineering College conducted a two day National Level Symposium on 28th and 29th, March 2019. The inaugural ceremony was conducted on the forenoon of 28-03-2019, Thursday in the Anantha Arangam. The programme started at 10.00 a.m. with a prayer song and Tamilthai Valthu. Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institutions lit the kuthuvilakku with the dignitaries in view of gracing the programme. Welcome address was given by Ms. S. U. Sushma, student of first year Civil Engineering. Presidential address was delivered by Shri. CA.N.V. Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions. In his presidential address, he greeted all the participants of the PECMA 2K19 and highlighted the role of symposium in the formative period of budding engineers to expose their talents along with building up their leadership qualities. Symposium, in its true spirit, is a genuine outlet for the ambitious to create and establish their own identity as a scientist during college years. He advised the students to be innovative in bringing out successful projects which should surely guarantee peace and happiness to mankind. Ms. Sandra Elizabeth, student of first year Bio-Medical Engineering introduced the chief guest, Dr. P. Ramasamy, Director, Centre for Research, SSN Institutions, Chennai. The chief guest unveiled the PECMA 2K19. In his inaugural address, he appreciated the institution’s interest in conducting symposiums. He stressed that experiment is the order of the day and engineering students should always have research attitude since the inventions of science alone can make a country rich. He stated that education should make a learner employable and appreciated that Paavai Engineering College has been focusing on giving training for career opportunities to students. He wished the students every success in their future endeavors. In her felicitation address, Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institutions stated that it is high time to think differently as the social scenario is changing. Students should be proud of their course and identity as engineer and good at communication skills. She highlighted that security is the foremost important thing nowadays and so it is everyone’s duty to give security to others which, in turn, gives us the same. The PECMA 2K19 Souvenir was released by the Chairman and received by the chief guest. Mr U. Bharath, student of first year Computer Science rendered prelude to the symposium. Vote of thanks was delivered by Mr.Akhil Shabu, first year student of Food Technology.
