The Department of EEE, Paavai Institutions, conducted a guest lecture on the title, ‘ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS IN POWER SECTOR’ on 27.08.2018. Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director-Administration, Paavai Institutions, presided over the function and insisted the students to consider this kind of guest lecture as an opportunity to know the advancements in the field of electrical engineering in industries. He also insisted the need of developing the skills in their respective domains and learning other languages which would help them during their career. Knowledge upgradation is quite necessary and there is always a constant opportunity for effective electrical engineers. Dr.C.Ramakrishnan, General Manager. Neyveli Lignite Corporation, was the chief guest. In his lecture, he also insisted the necessity of learning other languages by engineers as it would support them in efficient work extraction from their subordinates. He also explained the various sectors in which the role of an electrical engineer would be required such as Project planning, Design engineer, Operation and Maintenance, Supplier management and so on. He insisted the participants to shape themselves according to the needs of the society as they are in the period of innovation. Mr.S.Saravanan of Third year EEE welcomed the gathering and Ms.K.Nisha of second year EEE proposed the vote of thanks.
